Case Notes
This is an EarWell infant ear molding case. In the before photo, you can see the ear cartilage with an underdeveloped helical rim and a folded upper pole, features that are common in newborns and that respond well to early molding when treatment starts in the first weeks of life. EarWell is a non-surgical molding system placed on the ear shortly after birth, while the cartilage is still pliable from circulating maternal estrogen. The device repositions and reshapes the ear over several weeks without any incisions or anesthesia. In the after photo, the helical rim is more fully formed and the upper pole sits in a rounder, more open position. No surgery was required to reach this result.
