Case Notes
This is an EarWell infant ear molding case in a male patient. The before photo shows the ear with an underdeveloped helical rim and a folded upper pole, both common findings in newborn ear deformity. EarWell is a non-surgical molding system applied in the newborn period, when ear cartilage is still pliable enough to be reshaped without an incision. The device is worn continuously and works by applying gentle, sustained pressure to guide the cartilage into position over several weeks. The after photo shows the ear with a more fully formed helical rim and an open, upright upper pole structure. Some post-device skin irritation is visible along the rim, which is a known, temporary finding. Call (210) 460-7632 if you’d like to talk it through.
