Case Notes
This is a bilateral breast reduction case for a 63-year-old woman with a BMI of 38.1. The before photo shows very large, heavily ptotic breasts with the nipple-areola complexes positioned well below the breast fold. Reduction surgery removed excess breast tissue on both sides and repositioned the nipple-areola complexes higher on the chest wall. She had a total of 378g on the right breast removed and 252g on the left breast removed.
The after photo, taken at three months post-op, shows the breasts sitting noticeably smaller and higher, with the nipple-areola complexes relocated to a more forward-facing position. Scars are visible and still maturing at this stage, which is expected at the three-month mark. If you’re considering breast reduction, Elizabeth Clanton MD can walk you through whether this approach fits your anatomy and goals.
